Fix a room that isn't syncing
Get new bookings showing again when a screen looks out of date or a room shows a sync error.
- 1
Look for the sync error
Open the room. Its Overview tab shows when it last synced, and a 'Calendar sync error' banner if something's wrong. Screen cards also show a warning when a screen hasn't synced for more than 15 minutes.

Reconnect if access was revoked
If the error says Google or Microsoft 365 access was revoked, an admin should reconnect the calendar in Settings. Lobby may also have emailed admins asking them to reconnect.

Fix the address if the calendar wasn't found
If the error says 'Calendar not found', check the room's calendar address on its Settings tab. On Google, also check that the calendar is shared with the connected account.

Fix permissions on Microsoft 365
If the error says Lobby can't read this room's calendar, give the connected account Reviewer access to the room, or connect another account that can see it.

Sync now
Open one of the room's screens and click Sync now. If the error is gone, the screen shows the latest bookings on its next refresh.
Status & sync shows the last sync and lets you sync, preview or deactivate.
What happens next
Lobby syncs every room every 5 minutes, so once the cause is fixed it recovers by itself even if you don't click Sync now.
Tips
- 'API rate limit reached' and 'Calendar sync failed' errors are usually temporary. Lobby retries automatically.
- If the person who connected the calendar leaves the company, sync stops when their access ends. On Microsoft 365, add a second calendar account so another one takes over. On Google, reconnect with another admin's account.
- Virtual screens reload about once a minute. TRMNL screens on TRMNL's own service update every 15 minutes, and self-hosted screens follow their refresh rate (5 minutes by default), so allow a little longer for e-ink.
If something goes wrong
'Access denied to this calendar.'
The connected account isn't allowed to read that room. Share the calendar with it (Google) or give it Reviewer access (Microsoft 365).
Sync now says 'Device is not active'.
Activate the screen first.
