Set up low-battery alerts

Get an email before a screen's battery runs out, and show a charge-me notice on the screen itself.

Before you start

  • TRMNL or self-hosted screens. Virtual screens have no battery.
  1. 1

In the sidebar, click Room settings and find Battery alerts.

  3. 3

    Set the email level

Under Email admins at, choose the battery percentage at which every admin gets an email about that screen. The default is 20%.

  4. 4

    Set the takeover level

Under Take over the screen at, choose a lower percentage at which the screen replaces the room view with a notice asking someone to charge it. The default is 5%, and it must be at or below the email level.

    Save

Click Save changes in the bar at the bottom of the page.

What happens next

Lobby checks batteries every 30 minutes. You get one email per screen and won't be emailed again about that screen until it has been charged. The takeover notice clears itself as soon as the screen is charged.

Tips

  • On every plan, the Overview page already tells you when screens need charging soon, and the table view on Screens shows each screen's battery.
  • For self-hosted screens, Lobby estimates the percentage from the battery's voltage.
