Create an overview board
Show several rooms on one screen in a grid, for a reception TV or a floor overview.
Narrated walkthrough with captions. The steps below cover the same ground with screenshots.
Before you start
- The rooms you want to show are already in Lobby.
- 1
Create the board
Go to Boards and click the Create a board card.
Boards show several rooms on one screen. - 2
Name it and pick a grid size
Give it a Name, such as 'Reception TV'. Under Grid size, choose how many tiles it has: 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12 or 16.
Name the board, pick a grid size and choose the rooms in order. - 3
Pick the rooms
Click the rooms you want, in the order you want them shown. You can pick up to as many rooms as the grid has tiles. Click Create board.
Name the board, pick a grid size and choose the rooms in order. - 4
Put it on a screen
Open the board and click Add a screen. Choose New virtual screen for a TV or tablet, or Attach existing screen to reuse a screen you already have.
Add a screen to the board to put it on a TV or panel. - 5
Open it on the device
For a new virtual screen, use a PIN, the QR code or the link to open it on the TV, just like a single-room virtual screen.
Three ways to get a virtual screen onto a device.
What happens next
Each tile shows its room's name and whether it's free or in use, using the latest data from that room's calendar sync. The board's screens are listed under Screens driving this board.
Tips
- A board counts as one screen on your plan for each screen that shows it, however many rooms are on it.
- You can also turn any existing screen into a board screen: on the screen's page set Screen type to Overview grid, then use Attach to a board under Board assignment.
- Boards don't show a booking QR code for each room. People book from the individual room's screen.
- A tile that says 'No data' is a room Lobby hasn't been able to sync yet.
If something goes wrong
The screen says 'Add rooms to this board in your Lobby dashboard.'
The board has no rooms. Open the board and pick some rooms.
I can't delete the board.
Click Detach on each screen under Screens driving this board first, then click Delete board.
