Lock a virtual screen to your office
Use the viewer allowlist so a virtual screen's link only works from devices you've approved.
Before you start
- The virtual screen is already open on the device you want to keep, so Lobby has seen it.
- 1
Open the Viewer allowlist
Go to Screens, click the virtual screen and scroll to Viewer allowlist. It starts in Monitoring mode, which records viewers without blocking anyone.
Allow known devices, then switch on Enforce. - 2
Allow your device
Under Recently observed, find your device by its browser and when it was last seen, and click Allow. It moves to Allowed viewers.
Allow known devices, then switch on Enforce. - 3
Turn on Enforce
Switch on Enforce. The badge changes from Monitoring to Enforced, and any viewer not on the list is blocked.
Allow known devices, then switch on Enforce.
What happens next
Blocked viewers see 'Display locked' instead of the room. Lobby tells you on this page when it rejected a viewer, so you can allow it if you recognise it.
Tips
- Matching uses the public internet address the device connects from. Browser and system updates won't lock it out, but everyone behind the same office address is allowed.
- If your office's internet address changes, the screen locks. Re-allow it from Recently observed.
- Enforcing an empty list blocks every viewer, so allow at least one device first.
If something goes wrong
A tablet that worked yesterday shows 'Display locked'.
Your office's internet address has probably changed. Open the Viewer allowlist, find the tablet under Recently observed and click Allow.
